Teaching and learning is at the heart of all that we do, and with our programme to rebuild and refurbish all our secondary schools, this is a time when schools are seeking to involve teachers like you in making learning for all children and young people excellent. Parents rightly have confidence in our primary schools, where a rich learning culture is fostered.

Cambridge Education @ Islington is the partner of Islington Council and has been appointed to deliver the education service and work in partnership with schools and governing bodies to raise standards and further improve outcomes and opportunities for everyone. Islington council is the fastest improving local authority in the country and has a strong culture of continuous improvement and partnership working. We recognise that much of what is learned already rests in the schools and we are keen to ensure that this is shared across the community of learners in Islington.

Our key task is to make Islington's schools and Children's Centres the local first choice, generating wider confidence through one route from the Early Years, through our primary and secondary schools to our sixth forms or City and Islington College.

Islington is a borough of stark contrasts, with children and their families coming from a wide range of backgrounds. This creates a unique richness on which to build, and also a real challenge to ensure that everyone gets the best possible chance to really do well through education. For some families this is a genuine struggle and we have an excellent track record in working with the many different families and helping to make sure their contribution adds to their children's learning.

Cambridge Education @ Islington has partnerships with universities and other organisations within London, and beyond, and has good international partners that offer opportunities to learn about education more widely and to promote your professional development.
